Venue: It is Granadi ...

Yes, we have finally made decision after three weeks of confusion.  Last week Sheep made a down payment to Graha Paramita, Granadi.  Why? Simply because this venue meet our requirements, which are:

• Capacity for around 1.000 guests
• In the city center
• Max. rent charge is IDR 25 million
• Akad ceremony in the afternoon proceed by an evening reception
• Akad and reception at the same place
• Akad ceremony in front of "pelaminan"

Before come with this decision, Sheep visited four places: Balai Sudirman - Panti Perwira, Gedung Pewayangan Kautaman TMII, Patrajasa and Granadi, Kuningan.  Here are some quick review for four of them.   

Balai Sudirman - Panti Perwira

At first, we really interested in Balai Sudirman - Panti Perwira.  Sheep said the room is spacious and already well decorated.  However, the rent charge is out of our budget.  We set only IDR 25 million while the rent charge for Balai Sudirman - Panti Perwira is IDR 26 million (exclude 10% of tax).  That is the price for 2014 and will increase for next year.  Additional charge for Akad ceremony is IDR 6 million.  As the reception is in the evening, the Akad have to be held in the meeting room.  For that reason, Balai Sudirman is out from our list.

Gedung Pewayangan Kautaman TMII

Tiger choose this venue because it is close to Tiger's home. But Sheep does not seem like it.  Sheep wants our event to be in the city center.  The rent charge for Gedung Pewayangan in 2014 is IDR 18 million, additional charge for Akad is IDR 1.5 million and the charge to use the outdoor theater is IDR 5 million.  Gedung Pewayangan even tough looks old, it is quite spacious and has Javanese atmosphere.  It is in our budget, but just like Balai Sudirman if we want to have evening reception, the Akad ceremony must be held in the VIP dining room.  It can not be done in front of "pelaminan".  And, as we prefer a venue with carpet, we need to also cross out this venue from our list.

Yudhistira Ballroom, Patrajasa

We love this venue.   Patrajasa has a nice room with big window and full of carpet.  But, the venue is in the second floor so the guests need to take escalator to reach the room.  The rent charge for Patrajasa for 2014 is IDR 20 million and for 2015 will be IDR 25 million.  IDR 5 million in a year? Wow! Additional charge for Akad ceremony is IDR 5.5 million.  Back to our requirements, sadly, we can not have our Akad ceremony in front of "pelaminan".  They provide a separate room for Akad in the afternoon and it looks like a meeting room.  Yes, it is a meeting room.  The dressing room (ruang rias) can be used start from 12 pm.  But it is not the main dressing room, while the main ones can be used start from 3 pm.  Catering price start from IDR 70000, but minimum order is 1.000 pax. Again, for the sake of Akad ceremony and our family comfort ability, we decided not to choose Patrajasa.  Here are some photos for Patrajasa:

Graha Paramita, Granadi

Granadi has smaller room but still meet our requirement for around 1.000 guests. The best point of Granadi is it is only available for one event per day.  It means that we can have our Akad ceremony in front of "pelaminan" even tough the reception is in the evening.  The other thing we like is it has two outdoor balconies on the left and right side of the ballroom.  The balcony has a typical Javanese wooden house (rumah djoglo) that can be used as additional spaces for guests.  However, there are several things we do not like such as high charges on the catering (the price per pax is generally IDR 5000 higher than Patrajasa),  limited option for decoration and photo-video services, and  they even charge IDR 750000 for the carpet.  Rent charge for Granadi for 2014 is IDR 20 million and for 2015 will be IDR 25 million (incl. 10% tax).  Additional charge for Akad is IDR 3 million.  Here are some photos taken by my lovely Sheep:
